  • Bare Bones '55!

Can't remember the recent thread where we talked about driving running chassis around, but I finally found the pics I had of the '55 President Coupe that was at the '01 LaPalma meet. Man - I'd want goggles at the VERY LEAST![8D]

Look at that steering shaft support![:0]

Speaking from experience, with Big Bertha, which is presently restored to 'as delivered to the dealer'; i.e. no flatdeck or truck body on it. Behind the cab, I only have the bare frame rails with some temporary plywood rear fenders to satisfy the law, and I get just as many looking at the back half of the truck as I do at the front of it at various car and truck shows. Evan Davis helped me clean up Big Bertha for the concours in Spokane, made the comment that he never had to shine up a drive shaft for a car show before. However, I do plan to install a flatdeck on her eventually, but that will be when I get one of my cars finished.[]

I wonder if the guys looking at are saying, "Usually it's the wheels that get stolen!"
