  • 53 Champion passenger side axle shaft needed!

    Hey Folks,

I was trying to finish up my brakes. Got everything good and set and *then* noticed that the threads on the axle are borked. There's no way I'm getting the castle nut back on there.

Anyone have a shaft they'd be willing to part with / sell? This is going in to a stock 1953 4 door Champion. I need this badly so I can get the old girl back on the road!

    Thanks in advance!
    Jody

There is a die that fits those threads. Not an option[?]

No, I thought long and hard about the die route. The problem is that something along the lines appears to have hit the end of the axle at an angle that has completely cut through the threads. I seriously doubt it would work.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try though. What's the die size?

A fellow Studebaker person happened to have the part. Thanks for the help!
