also in other books ive found the r4 was rated with more hp than claimed the r3 335 hp but with duel valve springs etc touch 400 plus so i think as far as my searching goes on stude grunt theres more hp too stude motors than one might think my brothers lark custom r1 automatic we were sure it had more than 240 as we dragged many fords and chevs etc in those days of young not one even touched the old r1 289 with those bigger blocked engines of 351 ford and 350 chev the r1 was fast and still alive today in auckand nz and i think the guy wonts to sell it
