  • Air compressor and shroud.

Installed the air compressor from vintage air but now the shroud will not go on. Did others run into this problem? Looks like I have to notch out the shroud. Any ideas?

    What kind of car?

If it is a Hawk, there was a thread earlier this year about that. You can use the search function to locate it.

I tried to find that thread and could not. It is a 62 Hawk.

Here is the one I remember from earlier this year, several of the pics show the cut-out to clear the compressor clutch. Yours may need to be somewhat different, but this will point you in the right direction:

Also, here is a similar thread that N8 started, and he included a pic of the cutout required for his rotary compressor on his '55. Older car, but same idea:

Which evaporator are you using? I want to put a VA evaporator in my 53 to replace the Southern Air unit I have. Limited space behind the dash. Curious to know what others have used. Pictures appreciated.

Have not bought the evaporator yet. Been getting the engine area taken care of and than will move inside, which is real soon. VA did tell me what works best in my car but I do not remember off had. I am going for air, def. and heat set up.
