  • Studebaker Go-Devil snowmobile??

    Another photo from the MN Historical Society website. This pic is dated 1922. Does anyone have anymore information about this?

      That thing is way bigger than it looks at first. And would appear to have serious center of gravity issues... I'd call it a flip-devil.

        The width of the front skis were probably meant to keep it stable in turns.

        I see boat and airplane touches in the design - wonder who engineered the thing?

            "Go Devil" is a generic term for early ice and snow machines.
            (And the early Jeep engine)
            There were quite a few homeade efforts...

                    I think the Elbridge model was really a early hair dryer, Would bring a whole new meaning to gettin a bug stuck in your teeth.
                    They do look like a heck of a lot of fun though.

                            I don't think it would be too good as a snowmobile with only the propeller driving it. It may however work pretty well on an icy road or frozen lake.
