  • Hawk deck lid differences

I know the '59 to '63 Hawk deck lids are basically the same w/ the '62-'63 using the aluminum overlay. The '64 is unique to that year only. However, is the '56 to '58 the same as the '59 to '63 with just the holes for the pot metal script?

    Thanks

Could you be a little less specific?

From what I now understand the '56 and '64 deck lids are different and unique to those years. However, the '57 to '63 are the same except for the holes for the script used from '57 thru '61. So an earlier lid from '57 through '61 would be OK to use on a '62 or '63 since any holes would be covered by the aluminum overlay.

              I would doubt it.

The only thing different with the 56 deck lid is the lock location it would bolt right on with no problem same with the 64 for fit, just 64 GT is a smooth back with no ripples, any 53-55 C/K deck lid will also fit on and bolt right on no problem, been there don that...Bob

From what I can tell the 64 hawk trunk lid is also different in that the lock housing is not in the same location as 63 and prior.it would sit out further being that there is no recess in the sheetmetal,so I assume the latch is not the same either? or is the shaft longer?

Lock should be the same. Look at parts book.
