A great day in North West Washington! Mid 70's F. Sunny. Plenty of beautiful cars. Great food too.

Here's some pics of a few of the Forum members in attendance. There were more, but some wouldn't stand still enough to photograph ;)...

Gord left home Saturday, but had car troubles. Returned home...made the fixes, and will leave Monday for here (be here Tuesday). He missed the show, but we'll have fun anyway :D.

Was he headed down in the new Avanti? Just wondered if he had a chance to get the seat covers to StudeRich. They've had quite the journey.. and most appreciative of his kind, long distance delivery service.

He was in his Suburban...towing his trailer to pick up his '60 Lark at my place...

Yep, the seatcovers for Rich are in the Suburban, and the 'burb is back on its feet. The starter calved when I stopped to fuel up at Deadman's Flats, just short of Canmore.

I pulled the starter out, tore it down, and was able to patch it up enough that I could start the truck, but by that time, I'd lost so many hours that there was no way I was going to make Vancouver in one go. So I went back to Calgary, and got the NEW starter that Craig Parslow, (8E45) was able to buy for me, and spent today putting that in the truck. Fixed a couple of other minor things while I was at it.

And then got a couple of hours in on fixing the catwalk section of the front end sheet metal for an M16. Had supper, and went out and mowed a little grass.

Thanks again, Gord. My Tahoe's starter hasn't stranded me yet, but the fuel pump in the tank did. Dropping the tank's a fun fix on the road. :(
Have a safe trip tomorrow. That Lark looks like a beauty. John & Tracy need to find a 4 door gem just like that. I think they have a serious soft spot for '60s still. [^]

I enjoyed the show today. It ended up being a four hour round trip. Many thanks to a great Stude group - all of you epitomize what the SDC is all about. Very well organized, very friendly and inclusive of everyone.

Sorry I missed meeting you Dick. Maybe next time. Thanks for the pics.

I was very honored to win a trophy today - so much so, I turned around and sold my car...:-) Thanks to all of you for a very enjoyable day.

I was afraid that pic would turn up somewhere to haunt me.
Oh well, it could be worse... [:0] :D ;) [:o)]

Glad you all could make it out.
I actually got to meet most of people and their cars as they came in-
I somehow got roped into being one of the 'parking attendants', you see...

I especially liked watching the lowriders bounce in the grass as they came in,
and judging a few cars with Dylan.

I think everyone enjoyed the time they spent in my 'backyard'. :D
If you liked this show~ Wait till next year's CanAm Zone meet!!!

I did, but it was quite late when we arrived home, so I will post it later -

Dick, I quite like the upholstery in that car of yours. It looked a little much sitting on the warehouse floor, but installed, it suits the car just fine!

I meant to compliment Rich on his Lyons tee shirt! [8D] As an 11-12 year old, that was my first drag strip I had ever been to. Very old school racing history there.

Thanks Dave, that was a present a few years ago from my son Dave, as he knows Lyons has a lot of good memories for me. [^]

My "soon to be" (at the time), wife Sharon (all three of my boys' Mom) even went there to watch me race! :)

Very nice meet, it's great to see a turn out like that, planning to
be there next year with my dog and my Studebaker, sorry I didn't get
a chance to meet but did see your car up close and personal.

The show was great, I had a blast like I always do.

The Whatcom chapter knows how to party. 75 entries!! The after hours party was the place to be. Pictures of the 'after party' would most likely be eye candy for the next several weeks.

Stephanie???

Mike,
Stephanie doesn't read the forum, but I think she took some pictures of the after show gathering at the Studebaker Diner and Museum.
I'll see if I can post some. It looked like there were about 30 people who caravanned over to see what the project is all about and kick some more tires.

"Next Yesr" the Whatcom County Chapter is hosting the Can-Am Zone Meet on that weekend. Hopefully they will be able to arrange a little something extra in the park after the Can-Am

We had a great day in Whatcom County.

Took our Speedster for a nice drive and, enjoyed the cars, people and nice weather.
http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo6/Studenut_photos/2009%20Mini%20Meet/55Speedster.jpg
The show had lots of Studebaker's!
http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo6/Studenut_photos/2009%20Mini%20Meet/Show1.jpg
And lots of Avanti's ranging from 1963-2001 [:p]
http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo6/Studenut_photos/2009%20Mini%20Meet/Show2.jpg
For a $2 donation to the club, you could get a fun ride around the historic homestead park in a historic vehicle.
Even Art Unger and others enjoyed this ride and can add atmosphere to any car show.

The owner of the Packard pictured above did win a trophy. There were plenty of trophies that went to others.

After the meet we had about 30 people caravan the back roads for the after show party and view some of our projects.

The 1902 electric wagon and 2001 Avanti shown are 99 years apart and member Oliver Yanco who bought the Avanti is 94 years young!
