        That is SWEET!!!

I know I'm in the minority, but like the '61s best of all the early Larks. To me they are the most refined design, with the more interesting grille, the raised panels on the hood and trunk lid, the revised roofline, cowl air intake, etc.

With the hood open just a bit, the caption could be "burp".

            A classic "Grocery-Getter". [^]

What I find kinda funny about the 61s is the fact that they had both single and dual headlight versions. That meant TWO front panels, TWO headlight pods and bezels and TWO parking lights and assoc. pieces. This when the rest of the car was essentially the same. This from a company that was very adept at using certain parts thru YEARS of different models.[B)]

I like the 61's the best of the early Larks also. I drove and raced one for years. I put a dual headlight set up on mine. Preferred the look. This one is a beauty. [^]

I know the '61 tail lights are unique and hard to find but with the '61 on the cover of Turning Wheels I was wondering something else about these cars.

Are the headlight rings and signal light lenses unique to this particular models and year?

It's the grease they're after, not the chicken itself. Studebakers'll take oil wherever they find it!
