'Had occasion to re-read the 1958 Silver Hawk single-sheet PD8030 "brochure" this morning while looking for something else.
Lest anyone think 1958 Studebakers were in any way outlandishly styled, the rear view of the Hawk contains these words for your enlightenment:
<center>Fins were a pioneer project of Studebaker-Packard
The styling others emulate is typified in the Hawk by good taste that avoids extremes in sweep and height of fins, in functional design of lighting assembly.</center>
They further add:
<center>Spare tire is in a recessed well to provide maximum usable storage space.</center>
(I guess the latter didn't make it to production.) BP
