Well folks, I am finally getting around to posting a trip report that came out of this post:

http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31480

I left north AL about mid-morning and my Uncle and his helper left the Jacksonville, FL area early the same morning and by sheer luck we arrived in Chattanooga at the I-24/I-75 split within 5 minutes of each other. We continued on to Cleveland and picked up the cars and parts. The cars were as expected, really rough.:D But there are a lot of good parts left, most of the trim is there and in pretty good shape. We got a lot of parts too! Total of three Packard engines, two disassembled and one still in one of the cars. Several intakes, both 2 and 4bbl and a bunch of other parts.

I thought I would never get all that pile loaded in the trucks:(

Everything went great on the trip, only problem was when I pulled forward with car #2 on the tow dolly the gas tank fell out (mostly) it fell the rest of the way with the help of a Saws-All. [:p]

Back in FL!

After the trip down I spent a couple of weeks in Orlando on business and then completed the second part of the trip, getting my wife's Lark back to AL

Back in AL (home at last!)

You will notice the missing full wheel cover on the rear, after about 30 miles I stopped to check everything out and the wheel and wheel cover was so hot I could not touch it. I let it cool, pulled the cover off and turned around and headed back to the shop. Got there, grabbed the puller and removed the brake shoes, no more problems :D

So after a fun filled trip, the work starts! :D

Also, at the I-75 rest area around Chatsworth GA, I pulled off to use the facilities and as I came out I saw an older couple in a Grand Marquis(sp?) lightly hit a BMW 328 as they were checking out the Lark [:0] The BMW ended up with a busted taillight.

I see the pics just fine, did you make adjustments? Thanks for sharing, sounds like a fun trip, even if hard on the back.

Thanks Bullet, we are really excited about it. It's a 259 auto with air too. Needs a full set of floors though, so that's first on the list.

Don't bring that convertible anywhere near me. Nope, don't do it!! There is space in my yard for a car like that.

Looks like it was a fun trip! Those Hawks are kinda sad, bummer they ended up like that. But you lark convertable, very cool! One of those have been on my dream list for quite awhile, and every pic of one reaffirms it. Have fun!
