Try what again? I am having a T-5 Mustang 5 speed put in my Hawk. Not sure what you are doing.

That can't be the right tower for a powershift Hawk, or the console is wrong. The rear side that is next to the console needs to be right next to the console, then there is a carpet piece that surrounds the tower and snaps to the console.

Jon, I missed getting the pic in the first time, so 'try again'

I am installing a power shift in place of a 4 speed and the shifter tower should fit up to the console, which it doesn't, by several inches...I was led to believe the console and the tower are from a Hawk..but maybe not...it should be a flush fit as per the attached pic..

You will love the T-5...I replaced my T-10 with one in my 64 Daytona, with a 3:73 TT Dana 44 and it moves our really well, and the best part is about 2200 rpm at 70 mpg plus on the hwy .

70 mpg on the highway? You should post this on the gas mileage thread. [}:)];)

Barry, it appears that you may have a "Lark" type console. The front of the GT console slopes forward which matches the shift tower.
A factory power shift console will have snaps for the carpet. The parts book only has one part # for GT's other than color. Black is
1344936X11.

Thanks Bob...mystery solved!!!

I will now go hunting for a proper GT console with snap buttons on it.., or maybe modify the Daytona one...know a chap in Oakville that has a powershift 64 and I can maybe use his console for a pattern..
