It looks beautiful.[^] Still, if it runs good as they claim, why not back it out of the shop and take somewhat better pictures? I wonder what the interior looks like?[]

If I lived near there or I could get it delivered for that price, I would own it today. My father-in-law purchased a white 1963 Cruiser brand new.

The car is an original California car, probably from northern the part of the state as the car has a black license plate with beginning letters of the alphabet. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll get in contact with the owner and I'll go and take a look at it. Bud

Man, I wish I still lived in San Francisco - I'd be down there in a heartbeat! I'm looking for a nice Lark with a V-8 to round out my Stude fleet. Russ Farris

                      Russ,

You can fly out there, and then drive it back. What a road trip that would be!!

I think the '63 Cruiser is the best-looking 4-door Studebaker. I love the cut of that rear door...like an early Seville or '77 Caprice. Elegant.

And how much would that cost after you figure air fare, lodging, gasoline, tolls and potential breakdowns? You could probably have it shipped for less. I know, you wouldnt have the experience. I guess that I have had enough of those "experences".

Paul knows I work for the airlines, so he's trying to goad me into buying it!

About 16 years ago, I flew out to Dallas, with my wife and two year old daughter with the intent of driving a 1963 Cruiser home to Charlotte, NC.
The buy was contingent on a close inspection of the car, I hadn't actually seen it yet. Well, when I got within about ten feet it became obvious that it wasn't anywhere close to the condition the seller represented. But he was a kindly older guy, and I believed he really thought it was better than it was. I politely backed out of the deal, thus sparing my family from an "adventure". Russ Farris

Yes, Bill, quite right![^] And yet, Studebaker kept on with their Euro-styling by putting a front end on it that had that Mercedes like feel to it. Even the three following models were ahead of their time in styling. I find it very interesting that when Chevrolet re-styled their sedans in the seventies, they strongly resembled the '64-66 Studebakers. I still find it puzzling that neither GM nor Ford ever picked up on the OverDrive transmissions that Studebaker used. They would have helped tremendously in lowering the mileage counts that California, and later the Feds, imposed.
