Mystery Box under '41 Commander

The '41 Commander I posted pictures of a few days ago has some sort of galvanized box under the drivers floor between the frame rail and the rocker panel. There does not seem to be any access to this boxed area. Anyone know what it is for?

If it is like my 41 Champion it is the air supply tube for the underseat heater. The tube draws its fresh air supply from the left vent.
