  • He's Back!!!

Well, its been some time since I have been able to chime in.

Just thought I would provide a personal update.

I have been in Duke Univ. Hospital, Durham, NC since June 9th.

They tell me that I passed out in my garage on June 8th, and was transported by paramedics to our regional (small) hospital in Clinton, NC ... then helicoptered to Duke on the 9th.

I woke up at Duke on the 10th with no idea as to how I got there and what was I there for??? The doctors ran every test they could think of.

Found out that I had a seriously high buildup of CO2 in my blood (later attributed to a heart problem and shallow breathing). Also found a new Heart Arrhythmia. They scoped my heart for potential blood clots, and finding none shocked my heart to a normal rhythm.

I'm home today, June 28th. Feeling better now than I have in the last year.

They changed a lot of the meds I was taking, and added a few.

I've got some FORUM catching up to do after being off the air for so long, and a lot of mail to sort through.

Hope everyone else out there has been in good health while I've been gone.

              Thanks, Guys

I have now had my first helicopter ride, although I was asleep at the time, and missed it.

Maybe next time I can stay awake.

                              Wow!!!

Thanks for all the "Welcomes Back" and kind thoughts.

One thing I would like to say ...

Duke University Hospital is the greatest! Wonderful care, great staff, latest equipment, etc.

Even the food is good, delivered hot or cold as appropriate.

Every person that assisted me in any capacity were, cheerful and optimistic, and being there almost a month, I met a lot of staff people. If you have to be in the hospital, Duke is tops!!!
