    "X85 AC3289 L&R"

Does anyone know what accessory this is?

Also, it was delivered to Milton Motors in Oakland, CA
but listed on the P/O is; "99 TAG LAS VEGAS DRIVEAWAY"

Can anyone decifer these codes for me?
    Thanks in advance,

        Hi fstst56,

This AC and most all other Ac are listed on the SDC Studebaker Template Collection maimtained by Dave Mottle.

Under Tech Tips, Specs and Data at the main SDC page:

Did you get your sales card from the Museum that stated it was sold by Milton Motors, Johnny? Mine stated "Truckaway, San Jose" on my P.O. and the sales card backed that up with the same city. Studebaker Wheel is a top source on deciphering these matters. Perhaps your car was desired by a Milton Motors customer and driven from a Las Vegas dealer. Not sure. Seems like a long drive from South Bend to Las Vegas, but goofier things have happened since I've seen never say never in Studebakerland come to light often the last couple years here on the Forum. My guesses are usually 90% wrong, though.

Henry, that's a great list for kits, manuals and templates. Is there a complete list of ALL the AC numbers throughout the years? That list has to be a fraction of all the AC numbers applied to the many parts by Studebaker.

"Henry Votel", thanks for the info.
I'll check it out when I have time.

"barnlark", no I did not get my production order from the Museum.
I got it from Nostalgic Motor Cars. I called them one day, she
put it in the mail the next day and I received it the 3rd day!

I got the production order, dealer invoice and the vehicle inspection
report. This last report followed the car down the line. The car
was then taken aside and everything marked was fixed before the car
was shipped out. There are 5 pages to this report on my car.

I believe that Nostalgic Motors only has this on Avantis.
For all other Studebakers you have to get the production
              orders from the Museum.

Thanks for the responses. I've been a member since 1977 and am
              still learning things!

I'm guessing a group of cars were delivered to Las Vegas to hold a 'Dealer Driveaway', where dealer principles from all over the southwest met, saw the new models, smoozed a little, and drove one home.

The "X" in front of the '63 Avanti code for front seat belts "84" and the '"85" for Rear, Indicates Uninstalled.

Sorry in being slow to respond.
I took her to a car show yesterday.

Richard Quinn, the cars serial # is R4457.
                      Body # RQ 3496. Engine # R3064.

StudeRich, thanks for explaing the "X".
The front belts are installed wrong, which I plan to
correct when I have the time. Shouldn't take too long.
I believe the buckle should be in the inside of each seat
and they have them on the outside. If you're not careful,
the seatbelt hangs out the door when you get out. I'm
still waiting to get pulled over by the State Police.
They like to pull cars over around here when they see
someone without their shoulder strap on, thinking they're
                      not wearing their belts.
With the "X" meaning they were dealer installed explains why
there are no rear seat belts. Wonder where they walked off to?

Is the production code X84 AC3289 L&R for front seat belts only or for front and rear?
Also what does the production code 99 2870 Executive Car Leasing mean?
