I'm flabergasted! This article only came out in our local paper today and is not nearly as detailed as what Jeff has here. I feel so ignorant in that I can't possible understand how he could find this so quick and has more info than the actual paper has.
Thanks anyway Jeff but I'm beginning to get a little concerned wondering what he can find that I thought was secret (g).

[8D] No one is more deserving, Ted. And the miracle of it all - Shawn McGrath reports your having won eleven National Drags Championships...and all these years you thought it was eight! Amazing! Thank goodness you learned that in time! BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Ditto BP's comments.
Ted,
I and so many others refer to you as Mr. Humble - or something to that effect. Having seen you myself - as you swoop down the track to victory - we - the Studebaker community - are every bit as proud as you are with each and every win. Not to sound too "gooey" here, but this week we're hearing all the accolades heaped on one of our late presidents. While this is nice, and all very "ceremonial", wouldn't it have been nicer to have lauded the guy while he could've basked in his glory?
Really! When you zip down the quarter mile, it's hard to fathom how many of us ride (in spirit) with you. Sure - we could all get off our butts and try to emulate you. But for various reasons, fellow Stude racers are a sparse breed. Reports of your repeated BrandX-trouncings are like Viagra for all us wanna-bees! All I can say is "Keep it up!"
Miscreant adrift in
the BerStuda Triangle
1957 Transtar 1/2ton
1960 Larkvertible V8
1958 Provincial wagon
1953 Commander coupe
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Dick: Do you realize how very close Ted lives to James Dean's home town of Fairmount IN? (Seriously)
True: Although Ted's mailing address is Summitville IN, the closest town to his property is actually Fairmount, where he goes to the NAPA store to buy parts. Fairmount is proud of being James Dean's home town and has multiple places of interest marked around the community, and a huge car show every year in his memory.
The old Fairmount high school (where James Dean attended) has been rapidly deteriorating for years due to its abandonment by school consolidation, but a large cash infusion from someone whose name I've forgotten promises to save it for posterity as yet another James Dean memorial.
So that's where Ted gets the "James Dean pose" [8D] to which you refer; he has been forever immersed in the James Dean culture! (Not that he subscribes to much of it, I should add....) BP
