Akron, OH Studebaker Bldg?

Akron, Ohio area SDC Members,

I was driving on W. Market St (Rte 18) Fri AM in Akron and noticed a warehouse style bldg on the north side of the road about 1/2 way between Tangiers Restaurant and Rte 8. Near the top west corner was a Studebaker Wheel logo. Any idea about the history of this bldg?

Used to be a dealer, Harv. We are trying to save that for the local club. I haven't seen it yet, but I know other Ohio Region members have been all over it for almost a year now. I understand the wheel was hidden by a wooden fascade for years. Good eye! I'll try to get down there and get a shot of it, unless someone beats me to it.

Thanks Dave. I can't take credit for seeing it, my Daughter always catches stuff like that. Sure hope that you guys can save it. Also, well wishes for the Wink's move to Summit this year. I'll try to make it there if I can.
