86 yr old Andy is supposed to blow into town this Friday for the 500, which is held this coming Sunday. I'll be out at the track for Carb Day Friday and will see if I can spot him. Dan

Would be cool to show up in the STP jacket like Andy wore back in the day or the pit crew "pajamas" of the same design! That would certainly get his attention!

Just get a white shirt and cover it with STP stickers.
Do they even make STP stickers anymore?
It's been years since I've seen one, they used to be everywhere.

          ivorydan,

I've been thinking about taking the day off Friday and coming
          over for Carb Day.

What exactly do they do on Carb Day and would it be worth the trip?
          About 3 hrs one-way.

          Thanks,
          fstst56

Carb day is a a open practice and team pit stop practice.
Last time I went you could sit anywhere and walk thru
Gasolene Alley. Lots of action and not large crowds.

Several things happen: last chance for all the cars to get out and practice in the pack with their race set up; later a pit stop competition; then about mid afternoon it turns into a rock show. Its first come first serve on seats except suites; great view from the upper level penthouse seats across from the pits; lots of celebs; bring ear plugs.

I just drove by today at 5:40 AM(I work at Speedway HS). People are already lining up for the weekend. A few priveledged(sp?)campers have been here all month.
