OUCH! A Ford hauling a Studebaker to the junkyard...sorta rubs me the wrong way.

I can see that the stuff is rusty, but there's no potential patch pieces from that rear quarter?

      1960 Larkvertible V8

      1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

The top of the quarter is holy, the center under the trim is holy and the bottom is shot. I saved the other quarter for patches and have two 54 quarters that can be used for patches.I saved 1 front fender and a 54 hood that is decent. Now, if I could get the vent windows and regulators out of the crusty doors, I would be happier.

At least it's an OLD Ford. The old Ranchero has served me well for a few years. I need to work on it so it won't rust away.

                  Speedster? Are you sure?

That big radio face plate with the four rotary control knobs sitting under the rear window opening doesn't look anything like the radio in my Speedster! [)]

Ummm, that was the "camper special" option only available in the deep south. Actually the remnants of a range that I stripped for my powder coating oven.

Jamie, You made the tough call. Some of us just can't bring ourselves to let go of a true "basket case". The effort to bring this one back was obviously too daunting for anyone to even attempt. This one just had to become an organ donor. Just think of all the good it did for so many other Studes even from beyond the grave. It looks to me to be a respectable demise to a once great auto.

Like was said before...at least it is getting hauled away in an old Ranchero. Yeah, its a Ford, and yeah its a shame, but at least a car from its same time period is its last ride, as opposed to some new truck with more plastic than metal.

1963 Lark, 259 V8, two-tone paint, Twin Traction. Now that the salt is off the roads, she is getting back into regular rotation!
