Wagonaire in Oregon

Wow, I really need to get my Wagonaires fixed up so I too can make money. Not really, I just love my cars no matter how much/little they are worth. I saw this add on Craigslist.

I don't know that you'd need to fix yours up much-
this one doesn't look to be 'perfect' by any means.
Maybe that 'four on the floor' is what ads all the value?

Well Dave, we at least know what color one was. The only full Package R1 is ASTRA WHITE if I remember correctly, it's in the Bell Collection and there are so many Avanti powered cars I get them mixed up! [:0]

The one Allan Songer parted out had a Blue Interior, I think it was Laguna (Silver) Blue, but could have been White, I am sure he'll tell us! [^]

I spoke to Rick, the owner, yesterday. He was disapointed that the car wasn't worth what he is asking and is willing to lower the price considerably. I rather apologetically explained to him that the car's condition didn't warrant a price higher than a few thousand. He'll start around 3k and dicker from there. Rick says the car runs quite well, brakes are good and everything works. It needs paint and though the interior is servicable, it needs doing as well. I didn't think to ask about the headliner, sorry. He also said the sliding roof doesn't leak at all and that the drains for it work perfectly. In fact, he made rather a point about it. He also made quite a point about how 'clean and straight' it is. No dents or dings.

As to the original price, Rick consulted with some friends in Alabama who are supposedly knowledgeable on classic cars. They were sure (big surprise) that a 289 is a Ford, so that's where that mistake came from. They also, set the price.

So give him a call. Someone just might be able to get a decent driver out of this.
