Not in a Stude... I would be a bit cautious as the ad says it fits '48 to '57 models, but clearly it's a 12V setup. These draw quite a bit more current than the stock headlamps.

Best avoided. These aren't really "Xenon" lamps. They are nothing but conventional H4 halogen bulbs with blue glass filters, not H.I.D. lamps at all. They say "rated at 60/55 watts" but supposedly put out "100 watts" worth of light. Since when have the laws of physics been repealed?

The blue glass blocks a large part of the yellow light, so they actually put LESS light on the road. And because of it's shorter wavelength, blue light scatters worse when there is rain, snow, fog, or dust about. Blue is a BAD choice for headlamp color. These lamps are for the wanna-be crowd who want to make their ride LOOK like it has those expensive H.I.D. as found in high-end luxury cars.

If you want REALLY good lighting, buy some E-code halogen units from a reputable maker like Bosch or Cibie, and install 75 or 100 watt bulbs WITHOUT the dam-fool blue tint. You will need better wiring and a headlight relay for sure in any Stude. And E-code halogens are available in six volt.

I'm sure N8 will tell you the same thing. He will probably also direct you to DanielSternLighting.com

For those of us in the States, I'd exercise caution installing an HID setup from a kit. In October 2004, DOT banned the use of selling and installing HID's in vehicles not equipped with HID's from the factory prior to October 2004 or that had retrofit kits installed before October 2004. The lights without a proper reflector or a proper alignment were blinding the oncoming driver, so DOT brought the hammer down on selling them. Now I know how big of a firestorm this can ignite, especially since this falls under the same category as some of us installing cutouts. But just remember to proceed at your own discretion, or something to that effect.
