I was at a friends house and we watched the movie,"Nixon" There was a scene with Nixon at a auto show with some 1964 models, did Nixon have a connection with Studebaker? I always wondered what he did between losing the 1962 CA election and his 1968 win at the White House.

Between 62 and 68 he was a corporate lawyer...IIRC, he represented Pepsi and others.
Maybe he was behind Pepsi "stealing" the Studebaker logo...in a secret prelude to the Watergate breakin?
(Just kidding, no political intent).

His firm also represented Studebaker.Stu Chapman had a talk in Charlotte that included some info on that. Nixon was involved in the negotiations between a Japanese Car Company and Studebaker of Canada to sell their cars in Stude Dealers. The deal obviously didn't go through, and, if I recall correctly, Stu thought Nixon's vulgarity may have turned the Japanese off somewhat.
