Had difficulty with the President's fuel pump installation today. Did not experience that on the '55 Commander or any other fuel pump installations. Engine is about ready for reinstallation into the car.
The fuel pump I'm sure is correct; even compared it side-by-side to the old one off the car. Arm is identical. Maybe it's "normal." But in oder to install the pump, I had to press down heavily such that the arm was in the pumping position, then I was able to thread the two bracket bolts in. Perhaps this is insignificant, but anytime before I was just able to insert the arm into the engine and bolt the pump on.
