    Yeah..I listed one here for about 12 hours
    earlier this week. After getting 2 offers,
    one for $600 and another for $750 I decided
    to part it out.

      I think most people that own '53 or '54 Starliner Hardtops or Starlight Coupes for various reasons, like style, are holding them pretty tight! [:0]

      The best the '54's, were not made in great quantities and are rare, '53's are more plentiful but have many issues, frame, "C" Pillar weld, Hood/Grille fit and general build quality.

        I could be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that a 5H is a '54.

          Yes...5H=1954 Commander. 4H=1953 Commander. 15G=54 Champion. 14G=53 Champion. C5=Regal coupe. K5=Regal Hardtop. C3=Deluxe coupe

            Like Dick said: 54 Commander, Regal, Coupe. Are
            you asking what it is worth?

              Regal Commander Coupe! Top of the line for '54. Hardtop may be more desirable but has additional restoration issues. Hinged rear quarter windows are a piece of cake compared to roll-down hardtop quarters.
              Brakes and water pump are standard maintenance issues. You should address them with any model you consider.
              If you're looking for a worthwhile project....if price seems reasonable.....if you're in a position....

                I'm thinking of making an offer. I need another Studebaker like I need a hole in the head. But I don't know what to offer yet. It needs a good home.

                      I have a friend with a 54 Champion HT for sale. It runs but has so-so brakes. Decent interior. Needs paint. Could be had for $6000.

                        I sold a '54 Champion coupe last year. 6 cyl stick OD. Ran and drove nicely, but a little rusty for a west coast car. $6k. Sold a '55 coupe last year. Ran, but trany was shot. Rust free. $7100.

                        I don't think those prices would hold this year, however.

                          I am currently restoring a 5H-C5 production number 2870 car. I have been working on it for over 5 years and I am doing all of the work on it myself. It will be show quality and when it is finished I will have around $30,000 in it. You have to restore these cars for the love of them not for the return value. I have no idea what it will be worth on the open market once complete, but I really do not care. The car deserves to be restored to an all original conditon because there just are not very many left. I hope to be painting "Irene" in late May. I will post more then. So, If you like the car and the look, go for it and make it a labor of LOVE....Good Luck

                            I'm in the middle of restoring a 55 Commander hardtop. Bought it for $2000 on eBay in 07 and it needed EVERYTHING. Fortunately everything is available. Will have close to $30,000 when finished, but it's not about the money. I'd gladly pay $2000 to $6000 for a 53-54 if it were close to stock and mostly all there. Now I'm thinking Champion, with a c-pillar. Please fix them up. Some lucky person will get a deal from our estates when we're gone, but the cars will survive us. I've paid more than that for a guitar!

                              Oh, yes, beware the scammers on eBay. They know what's rare and scarce and they lie! Most recently some guy was selling 55 C/K grill surrounds, but they were from a sedan! When I pointed that out he went offensive so I reported him as a fraud. Tried to warn Paul Revell (who also knows these parts) by e-mail, but by then I had picked up some viral issues from the scammer. Beware!
