    Daytona Convertible article coming up in Hemmings

    Be on the lookout in the front matter of the June 2009 "regular" Hemmings Motor News. I've just reviewed a short article Hemmings' Staff Editor/Writer Dave LaChance prepared for that issue:

    "1962-1964 Studebaker Daytona Convertible: There's No Shortage of Admirers for South Bend's Last Drop Top."

    Dave sent the text for review before publication, seeking correction of any factual errors. There were a few, which he gladly corrected, so it's an accurate piece.

    Professional photographer Roy D. Query is credited with the photo(s), but I haven't seen them and have no idea what they are (other than Daytona Convertibles, of course!).

      [}] I don't know, Jim. I don't subscribe to Hemmings Motor News and only buy it maybe twice a year on the newsstand. Perhaps someone else has paid closer attention to approximately when a given cover date arrives on newsstands and will post. BP

        With all the Stude coverage in Hemmings and Hemmings Classic Car...we really ought to do something nice for them.

        It seems there is something almost every month is the editorial section of HMN.

          John: The obvious nice thing anyone can do is subscribe to one or more of their publications. Single-issue newsstand sales are OK, but it is subscriptions that pay the bills and provide an operating base for any magazine publisher.

          The other nice thing is a brief Letter to the Editor (even e-mail is fine) saying 'thanks' for the Studebaker coverage.

          As Art Unger has repeatedly posted here, automotive editors and writers really do live in a vacuum, seemingly hearing only when customers are unhappy, although Forum members are unusually nice about posting favorable comments regarding Turning Wheels.

          A quick e-mail note saying 'thanks' is not only appreciated, but usually rare. BP
