  • How much for drivable Zip?

    I'm gonna get in trouble![]

How much should I expect to pay for a drivable Zip Van? One I can enjoy until I have time to restore it? (The Commander and F-250 come first!)

I haven't even brought home my Cruiser yet! What's wrong with me?

    '53 John Deere 50
    '41 John Deere H All-Fuel
    '41 John Deere B All-Fuel

Studebakers were made to drive! (Besides, they don't get lost as easy in the Wal-Mart parking lot!)

There was recently a subject/topic/thread along these same lines on Zip Vans. A SEARCH would probably locate it.

A direct answer - $200 to $1200 depending on body condition.

[:0][:0][:0] Gary, where can I get one for that??[] Charles asked for a "drivable Zip Van. One I can enjoy until I have time to restore it"

Tell you what, I'd LOVE to have one in that condition for that kind of money[:X][)]

It's not very often you see a decent driver come on the market- I've been watching for one myself. Last one I saw went for around $3K I believe. There are a fairly good number of rough to restorables around.

While the market will dictate the actual value, I think your answer is way out of line.
A decent (not a rusty POS) driveable, runable Zip van 'should' bring two to three times that amount.
Heck, a decent, driveable, [u]not rusted out </u> anything Studebaker should bring a couple grand....
                Just an opinion....

Jeff, they can can be really rusted out, and still be drivable, at least to the extent that they will go down the road under their power, and maybe even stop.

I have a '53 Champion coupe that is drivable, and I have in fact driven it a mile or so. No floors, no brakes, and it hits on 5 cylinders. But you can drive that sucker!

Non rusted Zip Vans are very few and far in between. Watch my zip van threads and see how we do (did) it. Contact us for parts you may need. We must have 2 of everything by now.
I am glad to see someone interested as much as we are.
