  • chapter meeting today

The South GA chapter had its bimonthly meeting today.

Had a pretty good turnout. Though Mr. Rice couldn't make it, there was still plenty of yellow to go around.

My uncle and I spent all Friday evening and Saturday morning bolting his '56 Sky Hawk back together. I spent the night out there and Christine had to sleep outside.

We got the '56 'done' enough to make the 30 mile round trip. It's one heckuva nice car, and runs like a Studebaker should. [8D] He bought it from Steve Cade about a year ago, in pieces.

289 V8 with FOM trans, 3.54 rear end. Edelbrock carb, and one of those fancy T-Bow Mallory distributers. Silvertone stainless dual exhaust. Hurst 'cheater slicks' under the back end. And every piece of repop chrome that Ed Reynolds has available. [)] Still a ways to go, but it's gettin' there. And lookin' pretty good. [8D]

And yes. It has the correct battery hold down.

Nice pics, Matthew, and it looks like a good group. 'Love the duals on your '58...and, yes, the battery hold-down on the Sky Hawk![] Sky Hawk is very pretty; congrats to your uncle. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

          Just got back from Chicago..
          Couldn't squeeze everything in...
But got back to an absolutely fabulous spring day...
Drove with the window open...just because we could.
          Sorry to miss the meeting...
          Pic's are great!
