torque converter for DG 250

Is the torque converter and "direct drive" clutch part no.536501 on a BW DG 250 M taranmission rebuildable by a pretty good mechanic at home under a shade tree.

I think you would want to send that off to a converter rebuilder specialist.

Torque converters need to be cut open, in order to be rebuilt. Afterwards they have to be precision welded and rebalanced. Can you do that in a "shade tree garage"?
