  • What a way to ruin your day

Oh man, I hate it when this happens...

The motor was rebuilt and the owner forgot to put oil in it. Do not know what damage was done to the motor.

    58 Scotsman pickup on eBay.

I wonder how many years ago the "oops, forgot the oil" happened. Considering how the Lark next to it has sunk in the dirt, I'd say it's been several years.

I like that rear bumper! I've never seen one like it, it appears that someone took a stock Stude. factory rear and cut it in half adding a center section from a "step" bumper to it! [^] Unless it was a special order, step type Stude option that I've never seen! The engine looks like a '62 transplant with oil bath air cleaner, may be WCFB 4 barrel. []

Pretty neat! What's rarer Rich - a stock Stude truck rear bumper or a Lark-Hawk R-series harmonic balance???[}]

I'd rather have the wagon parked next to it I think. Beats me how you could go to the trouble and expense of rebuilding an engine then forget the oil [B)]

I had a buddy buy a new Txyxta 4x4 a few years back. He drove it off the dealer's lot and 10 miles down the road the engine turned into a glowing red lump. Prep guys didn't add the antifreeze when it came off the transporter.
