  • Anyone here live in Las Vegas? Imperial Palace?

My Inlaws treated my wife and I to a Vegas weekend, we stopped by the
Imperial Palace auto collection while we were there. NO STUDEBAKERS!
I was shocked, with the hype they gave the place online I figured it
would have at least ONE Studebaker. How does one get a Studebaker in
the display? Anyone live there that can lone them a Stude? They have
pretty much all the cars for sale, but some are display only.

The fellow that started the collection was at one time married to the daughter of the owner of the IP. His name was Richie ? He [u]was</u> a member of the SDC. Any one remember when Richie had a display at Hershey? Tent, carpet, drinks, finger foods.

If you visit the collection, don't over look the Dusenburg Room, best Bloody Mary any where.

My daughter and my wife's son-in-law got a guided tour of the place. My daughter ask him if they had any Studebakers she told them that I had 5. He took them to the warehouse and showed them the 56. And a bunch of other cars that was there.

Yes, just like my wife becomes my brother-in-laws sister from time to time and from him his sister becomes my wife, often for the same reason!

Bill, Many Fords and one great Stude!

The Dusenburg room is history. However, Richie Clyne does have two Dusenburgs in his garage at his house. He also has a nice baby blue T-Bird, a Rolls convertible and a couple of fire trucks in his other garage. He also has a model T that was used in the Keystone Cops movies. It has levers on the floor so it can be driven from under the back seat. Cool Stuff. Not many Studes though.

No, "it" didnt look like anything because there wasnt any Studebakers.
I dont pay too much attention to pre-1950, but what I saw was a couple
of 80's F-bodys (89 turbo Firebird, two L1E Camaros) two Buick Regal
Grand Nationals (not even GNX's) a couple Shelby Mustangs, a Buick or
two, a 69 Camaro, a reproduction "Eleanor" from the Nik Cage Gone in
                  60 Seconds, a 2002 Firebird 35th anniversary, A Desoto that looked a
little like "Christine" (but tan), and others, no Studes. We got lucky
and were handed a 2 free pass when we exited the elevator by someone
who looked pissed, my wife got to see "Eleanor" and I took a picture
of her next to it (she snuck under the barricade), and we got a book
                  of Camaro performace 1993-2002.

There was never confirmation of where that picture from that other post had been taken. Just wondered. "It"..the Studebaker clearly in some collection, was what I meant by that question.

I will be up there this week. Will try to check it out. It is far different now than a few years ago when it was a true collection. Now it is basicly a high priced used car lot. Last time there the back room that used to be full of cars off display was taken over by the Blackhawk Collection of cars for sale. Richie took me back there several years ago.

Imperial is a really cool place to look at cars. Displayed inisde part of the Casino's paring garage you walk up and dopwn the ramps looking at cars.

Check out my pictures from a couple of years back. Enjoy!

The auto collection at the Imperial palace Hotel and Casino offers about 250 cars at any one time. Many of the cars are for sale. I have visited this collection twice and at least half of the vehicles are new since the first visit. The atmosphere is great, view at your leisure. It also has a small gift shop offering a great book selection. Enjoy!
