  • Saw'd off Provincial

Here ya go, Matthew. Frankly, I was sorry to behold this thing when I first laid eyes on it. I THINK it ended up like this because of some crash damage, but I can't recall with certainty now. If it was just something made to be cute, it was a waste of a good Provincial as far as I'm concerned. I have no idea what became of this thing. Again, I have a fuzzy notion that Leonard was trying to find a home for it back then. Heck, it might be sitting someplace moldering away. Maybe one of his daughters would know.

It reminds me of a fad in the early 70s (and maybe before)...
people were shrinking 55-57 Chevy wagons....I think even two doors/Nomads.

Can anyone confirm this or am I imaging the whole thing?

Now, I'm sure everyone knows how much I ha... I mean, love modifieds.[8)] Still, this one made me laugh. I really liked it. It would have looked better with the longer doors though.

I have to agree with you Mr. Biggs. Still, at least they did a really good job on it. What do you think they did on the frame? Maybe a Lark frame underneath?

I DO remember Leonard saying it was a bit "squirrely"[}] I also remember him saying it had at least once been a "clown car" where way more folks that it shoulda held kept pouring out the doors![)]

I didn't think you could make a 58 more bizarre that it already is!

If I had a 58 Provincial and I saw this in my dream I would run screaming out to the garage to check on it![:0]

Thanks for the pics StudeBob. It sure is an odd looking ride.

It reminds me of this "Lark bred with a Hawk" (that's what Steven Cade referred to it as.[)]) This was the result of a Hawk with a wrecked rear end and a Lark with a wrecked front end.
