Okay, so a '58 Commander 4 door isn't everyones first choice when it comes to owning a Studebaker. But when you find a one owner, unmolested, original paint '58 Commander 4 door that's a true 'barn find', you tend to be a little more open minded. Besides, the price was right. It's probably easier to live with the extra two doors than to repair rust and other maladies cares of that age often have. That car is definitly in nice shape and could be restored to show condition. Four door cars are okay. I've had some I really liked.

I don't mind a 4 door. I drive one daily and if you must drive a Stude, you can't beat them for comfort.

Oh, and no major restoration for this one. The factory applied paint you see will wash and buff out quite nicely. If I can get the 259 goin', I'm on my way to having a new driver.

Oh and Dave, I knew you'd love it. [8D]

That's a great car to just have fun with. Get it roadworthy, clean it and drive, drive, drive. That car doesn't need to be a 2 door or a convertible to get a thumbs up.

              Congratulations.

On its way to a 15.097 Spring 2006.

Great paint combo. Canyon Copper with the jewel beige roof, very nice find. All looks to be original except for the horn button. That paint will rub out very well. Please post some pics when you get the cob webs out and in some sun light. WOW what a great find !!!!!!!!

                      Congrats Matthew,
I hope that car was in a barn in your neck of the woods and not actually in Fayette, Co. That would be too close to Tom Elliott to have gone un-detected. Looks great. A lot of Dick S's "Lark shine" and you'll be sellin' that Daytona! Good luck with that 259, soak it good, it'll loosen up for ya'. Remember, more pics as you go.

Thanks Dan. I got the car from the grandson of the original owner. It was bought new somewhere close to Atlanta. His name was L.C. Northcut, and he owned a dairy. He drove it from 1958 until the middle '70's when the brakes went out, then went a bought a new Cadillac. The pics don't do it justice, but this car has been babied since new. Sometime after the grandfather passed away in the 80's, the grandson brought the car to his place about an hour from where I live, and stuck it in the barn. About 3 years ago, a buddy of his got it out and put plugs and wires on it, and though the engine spun over, he never got it to fire. New tires were also installed at that time.
