Looks good. I've got a mid 50's version, although I've got a lot less cars.

If all the cars are Danbury Mint, then it really is quiet an investment. Believe me, I know!

There is a book that is all about car dealerships. There was even a line drawing plan of a protypical postwar GM dealership. I've had thoughts of replicating this dealership plan in 1/25 scale and building models to stock the dealership. Some play with model railroads...[}]

That's a great setup. Now if we could zap it with Szalinski's machine and bring the scale up.

As an auto dealer, write your congressman and ask for part of the federal bailout.
Tell them you're a small businessman.

Sorry, bad joke, couldn't resist. [8D]

Well it has to be a 1/43 scale and i dont want to give over $50 for a car, the CASO in me.
And if you look on the window below there IS a lark, 1/32 i think. Have several cars below also, 1/24s and 1/8th.

Before I provide the answer I should point my reply was before I noticed the Avanti's in the showroom [)].....

It's a comment that either people into model trains love or hate. It doesn't bug me much myself but it makes for a good inside joke. If a model railroader is doing a specific era they usually try to stick to the era they are modeling. For instance I love N&W transition steam to diesel, so a pair of GE diesels would look well out of place as they would be too modern. That doesn't stop me though from having SD90's, SD40-2's, and what have you from running on the track(yeah yeah just trains, just stick with me here, lol). If the dealership is set in 57-58 it would look ideal. Anyway, looking around the dealership we see the newest vehicle was 57-58 so a Lark would look out of place among all of those new Hawks around the dealership. I don't know worldwide but in the US a CarMax specializes in newer used vehicles, which are usually only a few years old. In this case the Larks, Hawks, C-K's, and the other older vehicle would fall right into place as the
CarMax has a variety of vehicles to choose from(and I presume they get that 30 point inspection or they don't take the car [)].
Finally, there are a few places to get a Lark. I have one on our TV cabinet that I take to shows every year. It's a Jo-Han convertible that I used and AMT Avanti engine and frame underneath to provide a semi reasonable clone to my prototype clone. I always wanted a "Super Lark" model to go along with the car I drive so I kitbashed the two kits together. The top was a little more difficult so that was scratchbuilt. The inside and engine look right, but it still has the 62-63 nose and tailights on it, which I can live with.

Now that I said that and I see the two new Avanti's inside, the dealership needs a Lark or two to go inside, unless the dealer sold out. [8)]
