  • Newsletter help?

I have taken on the position of Newsletter editor of our local Chapter.
It's been a bunch of years since I've done a newsletter. I still have a Microsoft Publisher 98 program which I used previously.
What I am looking for is if someone has the various Studebaker logo's, car & truck model names, etc that they would be willing to share with me.
Also, any advice, tips, etc will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

You could go to the newsletter editors forum, sign up and download some of the S.D.C. logos that are provided there. I'm sure that most of the editors read this and other forums along with the newsletter forum, as I do. It is there to assist newsletter writers.

Georde, contact Larry Swanson and tell him who you are and what you are doing and he will get you on the Editor;s Forum via Henry Votel. There is much stuff there including stories and logos et al. If you need other material let me know off line as I have a whole bunch written throughout the years.

George it is great to have you among the editors of local chapter newsletter. The advice to join the Editor's Forum is excellent. Many of us (editors only) check in there from time-to-time and most are willing to help any way they can. Send me an email and let me know how I can help. ( itraseecab@aol.com )

George, the editor's job is indeed a lonely place. Only a lucky few will have members who contribute material to their club newsletter, although all the members want and need it. At least you will have the comfort of knowing that you provide a valuable service and that there are others of us in the same boat.

George, my wife and I edit a small national magazine. When we began, the printer required we use Adobe Pagemaker. My wife had to give up MS Publisher, and after five years, still regrets its loss. Enjoy your new hobby.

                  Hi Gang!!!

I thank you all for the words of encouragement!!
And I will be in touch with those of you that have offered your assistance.
I used the MS Publisher 98 program (and really liked it) when I was the newsletter editor of my Boy Scout Troop. That was along with my duties of Scoutmaster.
Now I'll am Vice-president and Newsletter editor of our Studebaker chapter.
                  Once again,
                  Thank You,

I've been editing our newsletter for about 18 months now and still loving it. It's not that hard when you love what you are doing. My job is particularly easy as I happen to be in a club that has lots of people willing to share the load. I hope you have as much fun with it as I do.
