  • Are rear trunk braces hard to replace.

    I found another 57 Silver Hawk. This one is fairly close to me. Decent condition. He says the rear trunk braces need replaced. I dont know what these are, how hard they are to replace, and if they are available or not. I would appreciate any info. Thanks.

    He could be talking about the truck floor to chassis mounts, also called rear body mounts. If he is chances are the trunk floor is toast too. Buyer beware I would suggest!

      I would take a look at it. If they are the rear corner braces in the trunk they are available from Classic Enterprises and, perhaps from Cary Fabricating Service. If you've never done it, it's as difficult as you expect it to be. If you've done any cutting and welding it shouldn't be a problem but, as already mentioned, expect additional issues.
