  • Info on 39 president

I have a friend who has obtained a 39 Studebaker President, 4 door. The car has been stored since 1950 (still has the 1950 license plates). He needs a tail light lens. Is this the same as other 39's? Does anyone have one they want to sell? He also said the coil wire has a "resistor" built into the wire. Is this a radio capacitor or?? I do not think I have seen a coil wire like that.He needs to replace the wire - any suggestions? Any information or help would be appreciated. He said he wants to sell the car. It shows 37K miles. He is asking $5,000.
    Thanks,
    David

I have both tail light lenses. Price $20 each plus postage. Let me know if right or left. The Commander and President are the same not the Champion. Yes, that is a resistor in the coil wire, just replace it with a standard coil wire (the old type with the wrapped copper wire). Email photos if your friend wants to sell it.

I too would like to see some pictures of the car, and a general location.
