48% a couple minutes ago...tried to vote, the site doesn't seem to want to let me, but the Stude is comfortably in the lead!

(It knocked me askew a bit that one of the other four cars is a Bugatti T57C...for crying out loud!...but I figure anyone with enough green to drive around in that doesn't need the help. The T57 would be a close second though. And seems indeed to be, in the voting. BTW that Champion is a real beauty.)

Not to be a traitor, I voted for the Type 57
Bugatti. I've had the rare privilege of driving quite a few of these (as well as working on them! Took apart one of these gem's straight eight engines and even successfully reassembled it![:0])

I'll never forget the first Type 57 I got to drive. It was a beautiful swoop-bodied coupe dressed in French Racing blue. We'd gotten the car out of a long storage in New York and did whatever it took to make it roadworthy.
A fellow mechanic and myself took the car for it's first drive in who knows how long. It was every bit up to it's marque's mystique. Everything was so tight and precise and perfectly calculated to where I almost instantly felt as if I were an integral part of the mechanics of it.
The pinnacle of it's impression tho, was when we stopped in the course of our drive to get out and behold the flowing, 40-year old coachwork this thing wore. It took a minute before I noticed the audible element of it - rather, the lack thereof. It was amazing. There were louvers down both hood sections that housed that masterful DOHC inline powerplant and yet the ONLY way you could tell it was running was to hold your hand close to the louvers and feel the warm air exiting them.
As placidly as it could whisper away at idle, first gear in concert with my right foot could make the tires howl. Truly an amazing piece of machinery. The Rolex of automobiles as far as I'm concerned.[^]

                    1953 Commander coupe
                    1957 President two door

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

This car was at the Southwest National Goodguys in Scottsdale last month. It was included in the pictures Dick put on for me. Car is from Washington.
