  • Not to toot our own horn (button)...

We know we've posted several pictures of our truck in various stages of (dis)repair, but we found this old picture today and were struck by how far we've come. We took the first picture earlier this year after we had spent several weeks cleaning and sanding on our truck. We were so proud (even with the huge hole in the dash). The second picture was taken after we replaced our horn button recently (yes, we know it's not the correct one, but we liked the color). People frequently ask us when we are going to "finish" our truck. We guess this answers that question. We probably never will "finish" our project. We like working on it too much! There's always a missing piece waiting to be added to our puzzle...

Looks a lot better, John & Tracy! Is that dash: Lilac, blue or Gray?

And are those red things all the way across, little LED lights? You could have SEQUENTIAL turn signal indicators!

I have never seen Red, beveled glass Gauges before, who makes those?

It is amazing what they look like after you take a step back and look again.
            You've done well.

StudeRich, thanks for your interest! The dash is primer gray. What looks like the LED lights are actually the screws that used to hold the dash "pad?" in place (it was disintegrated and we weren't sure we'd ever want to replace it...the screws fill in the holes). We just painted them red. The gauges are Dolphin gauges (fit our budget) and are actually black with red needles and clear "glass." The reflection of the red ostrich seat just makes them look red in this picture.

To me, that's a MUCH better reason than "because that's what the parts manual called out".

I like the color too [8D]. It would have been my choice. [^]
