Any suggestions for source for a battery for my 53. It is 12V but would like to get one that has a little of the vintage look

I prefer a compromise between 100% correct and good technology; a limited vent modern type battery that does not splatter acid all over the engine compartment with those open vent individual caps.

The Autolite Battery is available at your Local Checker, Schucks or Kragen Auto Parts Store for under $75.00, has a nice smooth BLACK case with a smooth top without built in "handles" on top that will except your HOLD DOWN! I put the Guarantee stickers on waxed paper in case needed later, and install a Studebaker Battery decal. It looks as close to original as possible without the high cost and bad effects.

And Guess what, they still make the Group 24 basic, not 24F (Ford), not generic (posts in center of each end) in both Autolite and Autolite Premium! [^]
