Just wanted to thank barnlark we traded shirts since my maiden name is Wink he thought that I should have this shirt. It is great Thank You. I wore it today for a parade in Tranquility a little small farming town on the West side of the San Joaquin Valley. Our other Car Club Loose Wires needed cars to get together for a Parade out there so we went Took the Prez and the Hawk. We had a great time. People at the end of the parade yelled Who makes that Car? I yelled back Studebaker had to educate them while driving in the Parade. We just have to take every opportunity that we can to get those Studes out there. It was 89 degrees out there today where is Fall?

Thanks for the nice pictures from a nice part of the country.
You ask where Fall is. It has already been here. A couple of mornings ago, it was 23 degrees. We are supposed to get snow before the day is out.

Bill, you don't want to see it close up-it's a rather hot topic in the Ohio Region chapter because Wink's Drive In buys and sells them from a vendor whom spelled Studebaker with two a's instead of two e's and most of us bought them and never looked until we got home. We're waiting on a re-do by the vendor. I'm blue from holding my breath by now, so Anne's being patient and just happy that "Wink's" is spelled correctly on those!

YEE-OWCH!!![}:)] How irritating is that?!? Misspelling is not a crime, but there's no excuse when you're making something like this:(

I know a guy who spent $800 to have his truck lettered with his construction business info. Not only did they misspell his name, they misspelled "excavator" and "commercial"... kept putting off fixing it, and finally refused to give a refund! He went to court and got the money back, plus the cost to remove the decals...

If you're going to be in the business of making a product involving words, how could you not double-check the spelling?? It's called proofreading[:o)]

At least those words come up on a computer's dictionary; Studebaker still gives me red underlines thinking it must be misspelled. [:0] Must be a college kid programming the Mac dictionary from their recent pocket version. ;) Car graphics are pretty serious expense-wise, so there really isn't any excuse. Previously, I posted our live truck at work with the graphic printed so that when one slides open the door and it reads something it shouldn't and they also covered up the much needed side windows with the opaque style. Not well thought out, but misspelling a company name and common services are really dense.
At $15 a pop for the t-shirts, it was still a major oversight for a company that prints them every year. :(

I just wanted to see how it was printed. screen, DTG (direct to garment using either a Brother or Epson printer, or transfers.

If it was screened, I can see why vendor is stalling. Any four color CMYK shirt design has to be run on an automatic machine, and you waste about 20 to 30 shirts until you get the machine to print correctly. It has to be done on an automatic. Cannot be done be hand becasue if the guy who is working the squeegee changes his stroke, angle, pressure the colors change.

...and it was on both sides. No wonder they aren't making good on them yet. They made hundreds.

I took these this morning for you. They are great Shirts. See the upside to this is you can tell the new Studebaker People from the old. Cause new people wouldn't know it was misspelled.

Anne
in the "white" area, can you feel anything other than the shirt?

Is there any stiff feeling in the white area.? I am wondering if these might be computer generated or DTG. The car on the right looks too good.

All humans can make mistakes.

This reminds me of the misspelled "Gran Turismo" shirts that you (bondobill) were selling a few years ago.

It also reminds me of the fuel oil company that I deal with. They had a new delivery truck lettered. The large lettering of the telephone number had an incorrect number. The company compounded the error by using pictures of this new truck, with the incorrect telephone number clearly displayed, in advertising.

All things of this nature should be "proofed" by someone not closely associated with the work being done.

THOSE SHIRTS WERE NOT PRIDUCED BY US. They were made by a company down in Florida, and were and still are carried by every T-shirt vendor in the collector car circuit and are on E-bay till this day.

Just want to set the record straight on THAT

That does make it clearer, but I did say that you were "selling" them, not that you manufactured them.

Allen, I just noticed that myself. I'm starting to wonder if it was supposed to be like that with the red, white and blue theme as a host, or they misspelled "The Legend" too. Like the owner said.."hey, they're collector items!"
Glad you got them, Anne. My daughters and I have many years worth and this was the first one with a controversy. Good for a conversation starter. :D
