  • 53/54 C/K fender lines

Is it just my imagination, or is there a slight difference in the crispness of the fender line between the 53 and 54? I have two sets of fenders and they don't seem the same.

That body line in the fender SHOULD be the same from 53-64. I have seen some that are "soft", but generally due to a poor collision repair job.

I don't know how many fenders a tool will stamp out, but if Studebaker had to change tools over the years, I guess those made near the end of life of a tool might be less crisp.

New, unworn dies in 53 might give a crisper line.

I would think all dies would wear over time and be replaced
            periodically.
A crisp panel from any year or month could be hit or miss.
