i can't beleive my new toy. i think i got a good deal on this. got it home cleaned the points and put in some new plugs, hooked up a seperate gas tank and she fired right up. but needs a carb kit. seamed to run real smoth though. i need to get some tires also. this truck had not been started in thirteen years and set an additional six or seven before that. the odometer says 65000 and i would belive it if some one said it was just that. put in brake fluid and had a pretty solid petal. yes i do plan to put tires and go through the brakes and carb, along with many other little things but can't wait to just drive this. will be my first to have on the road to call my own. and incase anyone wants to know i found it by takeing my starter for my silver hawk in to get new bushings in it and he said he had a studebaker, next thing i know i bought this 500 dollar truck. any one have any suggestions for a name????

Name? Park it over at my house for about 15 years and I promise I'll return it with a name... Man, for $500 you stole that! Maybe you can call it grand theft truck.

          $500? five... hun...

dang, I live in the wrong area.

serious question, is that the right carb? I didn't know Stude ever used Holley carbs on anything. I'm not a big fan, either - a good Carter will probably make it run better (at least based on my experiences with old slant sixes)

              Nice catch!

Names? Since you effectively "nicked" it at $500, how about "Nicky"? Or perhaps "Plunder"? Boy, right place right time or what...

I think the carb should be a carter RBS. The way you stole that truck you should name it "Billy the Kid" or "Jesse James" or something like that. NT
