OK, when I first got my Stude it was Rat-Rod'ed and had red wheels, which I personally thought was odd... but seemed to match the red interior the PO had put in her... as I look around at pics of other members rides, and more online, it seems quite a few rides have red wheels... this may sound stupid, but is there something about red wheels that I am missing? Or is it just an odd co-ink-y-dink?

Well maybe you have not been around long enough to remember that in the 1950's you were "out of it" if you did not have RED Wheels! It used to be a big deal to have '55 Olds spinner Wheelcovers and RED rims. Also a big street rod and now "RAT Rod" retro thing on all makes to have Red Rims, Wide Whites, and bottle Cap, Hub Caps! [:0]
They did look very sharp with the Wide White Walls of the day, and they got your attention, which is what it was all about! In those days new wheel Covers even were something not everyone could afford, you remember hearing about them getting stolen, right? This was also before most "Mags" were available or affordable for the average High School Student Grocery Store "bagger" type kid!
No, they do not belong on Studebakers, unless your car happens to be a '47-'60 RED car or a '47-'55 Black Car!

I told N8 if he did not paint his wheels red, I'd do it for him.
He gave in, and loves the look. It's a total 50's thing.

Early R series trucks all came with red wheels no matter what the color was.

My dad came of car-age in the late 30s...and he added red wheels to most of his cars until his death.
A notable exception were his ice-blue 59, then 60, Cadillac four door hardtops...
