three years ago I used Yellow from NY to Houston. After declaring myself a buissness they did it for around $650.00. Don't know what it would be today. It was motor and trans combo. Good Luck.

I bought an engine assy & complete rear end -shipped from Illonis to Riverside, cost around $950.00. The shipping company had called to make sure there was a fork lift available when it arrived, or they would have had me pick it up at a depot. I cant remember the shipping company, but I would call around some of the majors for a price, especially with the cost of fuel today. Yes, I had it shipped to a business too, the dealership where I worked. This was 2 yrs ago.

I found the cheapest, is to strap it to a pallet and haul it to any air facility where Forward Air operates. An example....F**D Pinto long block, no exhaust manifold, but intake and carb....California to Northern VA was $150.00

For a baseline, go to freightquote.com. Use code 85 for material, standard size pallet and local shipping dock drop off/pickup to get the lowest price. If you need more info, call their 800# and ex 1917, ask for Ed.
