I spotted this today in the car wash area as I was taking pictures of the trucks.

The grills are obviously not stok and the hood had louvers in it. The antennaes at the top of the "cab" were a different touch.

I think I remember seeing this on eBay last year. That cab evokes a distinct memory!

Yep, the owners stayed at the same motel I did during the South Bend meet. I seem to remember that it was built back in the '50's to use as a motorcycle hauler. And it does have a Stude 289 under the hood. [8D]

It belongs to Ken Evans,Sycamore, Ill. I've spoken with Ken on the phone and exchanged some emails with him. Somehow I missed it at South Bend last year.

The car was built in the 50's in the midwest. It had the horizontal antennas then, but not the fins. It has been modified a few times over the years, It's a real cruiser with the comfy interior, AC, TH700.

Ken is a total "gear head" and has everything from hot rods to pulling tractors.

Say "hi" to him for me if you see him.

Anyone else think that the horizontal antennas are a bit reminiscent of the '58 Turnpike cruiser's roof antenna/airscoops?

Nice looking unit, it looks like an exterme (a polite way of saying a bit over done..in true late 50's fashion :D ) of Dick's car.
