Howdy All, are there any vendors that offer a repop of a '57-'58 supercharger boost/vacuum gauge? I am working on a custom dash for the '59 Deluxe Scotsman using all Golden Hawk components, '58 gauges, '56 toggles, and would really like to find one. I have a vintage SW vacuum gauge in place now but it just isn't the same. :( Perhaps someone might have an original, that they would like to trade for something they have been looking for. ;) Heres my unfinished mockup. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l11/studemaker/CIMG0349.jpg

I have a good used 1957 GH unit (that I haven't seen in 20 years). If you are interested, I could try to locate it and bring it to Lancaster. The only trade that I would be interested in is US cash.

Howdy Gary, Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I won't be in Lancaster, but would still be interested in your gauge if the price is right. If you would like to email me through my forum name, it would be appreciated. Thanks again, Tim

Tim - Since you are not going to Lancaster, I will look for the gauge after I return home and after I locate it, I will get back to you.

Tim, if this really cool panel goes in the usual place on the Transtar dash, that would put the Ign. Switch dead over the steering column. I think it would be better on the main dash face just to the right of the panel because although it is nicely balanced, it would be hard to use.

What I would do, is put a cigar lighter plug or similar in the hole and put a turn Sig. Indicator light which seems to be missing, in there!

Is your engine supercharged? If not, what you need is the '56 GH vacuum gauge.

Howdy Rich, we are having the same idea, but just opposite of each other. ;) One of the considerations in planning was just that, the placement of the ignition switch. It has always annoyed me that the ignition switches factory position was nearly over the column. I thought that if I put the switch in the center of the panel, it would be a considerable distance to the left of the column. I am still trying to figure out a way though, of putting the directional arrows on the new panel, from the Hawks turned panel though! ;) Howdy Jack, yes it will be supercharged. I currently have a '56 GH vacuum gauge in my '59's dash, and I like the look of it also. But want the blower pressure also. [8D] I had a fellow forum member that was gracious enough to recently offer a gauge from a '57 GH to me, Thanks Again Gord!
