Today our Potomac Chapter had our Fall Picnic at the Washington County (MD) Ag Center- Incredible, clear day especially after yesterday's visit by Hanna (up to 10 inches of rain in parts of the metro DC area), about 80, low humidity, nice breeze.
A dozen Studes were driven to the event, but the star was Ron Butts' latest incredible project. You may remember pix of his customized, all-Stude '59 Lark two-door several years ago. Since then he has also finished a '62 Daytona hardtop, 350 bow tie and Avanti Powershift, for his grandson to drive to WVU. A year or so ago he bought this '31(?) Stude rod down in the Shenandoah Valley, already completed and nice. But it wasn't nice enough so he basically completely disassembled the car and re-did it- incredible craftsmanship. It has a Buick engine.

Nice. If it was mine I'd switch those '39 Ford taillights to some kind of Stude lights.

Unfortunately he had already given it to his grandson before I got over to see it. I'll see if Ron has any photos.

That's a gorgeous car! So nice to see a lowboy that isn't some sort of FxxD product!
