Let me qualify this first. The car I'm working is remarkably non-rusty.
The only place that had to be replaced was the pass outer rocker. Everywhere, EVERYWHERE else is solid. But.....In order to replace the rocker, I removed (much to my delight that it was actually removable)the pass side quarter panel. What I found there prompts this post:
I hope that everybody that takes the time to do a frame off unbolts those quarters. The rust on top of the quarters, where the two pieces bolt together while still non penetrating, has managed to get pretty aggressive. The rest of the inside surfaces were pretty much in the same shape.
Besides, now the sandblaster can be 100% effective.
Man! I was never so glad to remove a dozen bolts!
