The deputy asked if that was me making all that noise. I told him I was afraid it was, but I came out to the middle of nowhere so I wouldn't bother anyone or have traffic. He was out on a call about someone shooting a horse. Ran me down to see the car. No ticket, no warning, just told me to have fun. Didn't realize I had the stop on tape 'til I got home and watched it.

Great that he had a sense of humor!I remember getting stopped about every time I drove one of Dads Avantis in my teens and 20's,usually just so the officer could ask what that car was.I guess it kept me out of trouble because I never did anything illegal in one as I knew they were looking for a reason to stop me anyway(dad would NOT have been understanding if i had been in the wrong).Your car looks and sounds great.Thanks for sharing,Steve

1963 Studebaker Avanti: C4 Corvette narrowed front/rear suspension, C5 13" calipers/rotors adapted to C4, Viper differential with Intrax 3.54 ratio (the snake has been charmed!), coil overs, stainless tubular frame, stainless chambered side exhaust.

Not staged. All I did was edit out the spaces where the car was turning around. The officer was investigating a dead horse complaint and drove across a pasture to get to the road I was on. Turns out, he lives in the house I was raised in. He told me about another stretch of road where the kids run their bikes. We agreed this place was better and he told me to have fun with the car.

Great Video!

I was stopped last week in my R2 Hawk after leaving a traffic light that enters a dark industrial area of town. I absolutely nailed the throttle when the light changed to green. I made it about 3/4 of a mile down the road before I noticed the blue and reds flashing behind me.

It was a beautiful night the roads were dry after a huge rain storm that had pasted earlier that evening and I decided to take my girlfriend out for a nighttime cruise.

The cop told me I was speeding and I quickly replied that I didn't think so. The industrial area had a road that was posted at 45 MPH. He replied "you left that mini van at the lights behind in the dust" I suggested that there was a difference between speeding and taking off fast. I took off FAST and did not burn out off the line (for a big change)and reiterated that I was not speeding. I wound the engine up to 4500 RPM in first slapped her into 2 (small chirp) and the wound her back up the 4500 RPM again and put her into drive and coasted back down to the speed limit. That was when I saw the lights!

The cop asked me for the usual DL/insurnance/registration. I had a hard time finding the insurance and He was pointing his flashlight at my wallet then moving it down the side of my Black Hawk checking it out. I told him the light was helpful and he said "oh ya" and pointed it back into the car. I found all my stuff and He left for 5 minutes, came back and was asking me about the car and what engine I had in the car.(the engine was still rumbling) I told him it was a stock factory supercharged 289, and he went on about his engine in his cop car. I mentioned I was just practicing my take off for the PSMCDR being held in a couple of weeks. We talked for a few more minutes and I asked him if we want to race? He said "he'd like to but he couldn't!"

He told me to have fun, take it easy and you were SPEEDING!
