  • The Ute is Grey

...well, actually, K36 primer . I'm still up in the air on the final color. Sticking in my mind this week is cream, with blood red and cream interior, red wheels, red engine, red go kart. I'll change my mind a couple more times before I have to make a final selection I'm sure.

All the body work is done. We DP40'd and K36'd it last night. It's nice to have it all one color again [8D]. We'll block out the K36, primer it again, block that out, then final paint.

The clubhouse is about 60' long. We tarped off the last 20' or so as a makeshift paint booth. It will work fine for the sealer and primer, but it will go to a pro booth for the color.

Dick - Excellent progress. I know that you are working to a deadline. Allow enough time for some bumps in the road. I always hate to see cars at International Meets that after a year or more are just being finished.

The cream color sounds good. Please shy away from the modern, bright show colors. Stick with a color that coincides with the theme of half a Century ago.

I'm feeling the time pressure . It really needs to be in California around the first of December to have the interior done...then from there to LA for the Roadster Show. That really only leaves me 3 months [:0]...Yikes!!

I agree on the color. The 50's pastels are what appeals to me the most.

ONLY 3 months? C'mon, Dick. That thing was originally built in less than one day![}] Gray with Red would be nice too.[|)]

                Dick,

I still say pastel peach with a cream or tan interior.

Just Think Dick, 3 months you should be go to go, 'cause you don't have to run it down to south Texas first for A/C.

                        What does that mean Ebon?

                        (1) You already sent him a complementary A/C System?

                        (2) Up here, we could care less about A/C? [:0]

You are making good progress Dick.I don't envy the deadline you are working with however. I think you will be fine going with a cream color.

Dick, I'm not going to comment on the color because my choice is the combo I'm currently painting my 54. I just wanted to take the opportunity to compliment you on the ute. A lot of customs lack a continuity of style but you have done a magnificant job. That ride is SWEEEEEET. Thanks for the updates.
